The AEA free food and technology distribution continued today—this is the start of the eighth week since our closure.
Our AEA Covid19 Relief Fund continues to receive generous donations; the fund is approaching $17,000 which will allow us to continue weekend distribution of food and hygiene boxes. We will have a full detailed report of funds collected and expended at the May 12 AEA Board of Trustees meeting.
We know that school districts and charter school organizations have been working to adapt to our distance learning reality. Here is an interesting article on the pros and cons of distance learning, and how this might impact enrollment in school districts and charters.
Today California Governor Newsom is scheduled to release updated information on the 2020-2021 State budget. By all accounts the budget numbers will be drastically different from the preliminary draft that Newsom released in January, 2020. Our leadership team is in the midst of budget planning this week and next—based on the State budget numbers I will post information on my blog as this process moves forward.
